It was utterly disappointing.
Why are you this cute? Answer me! Oh my poor heart! T_T
I have no high hopes with liveactions because it can never be compared to manga or anime but there are few that exceeds expectation. However, I'm hoping Ookami Shoujo to Kuro Ouji will do good / be better because it's not fantasy, no super powers -- there's no need for a lot of budget. Simply because the movie is a rom-com and mostly rely on how good the director is and the talent & charm of the casts. However, what happened in this movie is way different!
1. Is the cinematographer a newbie
Anyone who watched the movie would say so too. Bad angle. The out of focus scenes between two characters is rather annoying, upon watching I wanted to punch my screen because I can't see their faces. The zoom-in scenes were also bad! It's either zoom-out or zoom-in, there's no in between! Did they film the whole movie with a hand-held camera? A lot of zoom-in scenes were fidgety! Did they also film the whole movie with only one camera? The scene with Erika and Sa-chan, where the camera keeps on alternating between the two was so out of the line. It looked like a school drama project! Also the scenes where the camera was on the back following the casts was so so -_- Made me really think, are they on tight budget?
2. The timing of background music & the insert song
The insert songs were good, even the background music sounds nice! However, the timing was awkward. It would play at full volume with no fade-in effect and sometimes when a character is still talking! Also, do they not know how to lower the volume on some scenes, there were few times when a bgm was playing and I can hear a car passing by or hooting.
3. The casts
Yamaken has had a lot of Tsundere, good-looking & silent characters he portrayed before but in this live action the way he speak seemed robotic & monotonous! It seems like he's trying his best to act tough he forgot to add spice like variation in speaking. I'm not so sure with Fumi, I haven't watched her other works (Have I not?) her cheerfulness was enough for me but she lacked the cuteness Erika has.
4. The plot
Not gonna be critical since it is impossible for a manga to fit in a movie and expect a wonderful result.
.......
Okay~ I'm not usually this critical with movies! Only OSTKO has made me like this! Why! Why! Why!
