Soy. Lint. Green.

The great thing about nature is that it doesn't lie to you. It doesn't hold back on what it wants from you. Nature is honest and raw, letting you know exactly what it wants and needs when it wants and needs it. I spend much time in my garden and from the time I planted the seeds till now I have known exactly what my plants wanted and when. My collards were holey because they were being devoured by snails, my greens beans were hard because they needed more sun, my potatoes leaned to the left so they were trying to get out of the sun. So simple and endearing and easy to understand because of the truth and honesty there.

So unlike humans, who are intrinsically nature. I would never go as far as to say that human beings are the highest form of nature, watching my dog and planting a garden have humbled me deeply in those regards (many of you wish to argue, but that is a post for another time). But humans try desperately not to be considered such; we allow our logical brains or emotional hearts to ruddy the raw beauty that is our spirit. It is true that you can learn from any living creature great and small in this universe, and I learn from my plants. I learn that it is alright to be open about your fear, only then can you conquer it. I learn that mystery is only healthy at the beginning, in the end let your fruit and colors burst forth if you wish for something to be yielded and harvested. I learn that reaching out to a source of light instead of shrouding in darkness will help you grow stronger. I've learned that patience and time is all you need, you cannot make anything go any faster despite your wishes and wants. And most importantly, I've have the wonderful truth of connection reaffirmed...

By that meaning, animal, vegetable, or mineral we are all connected to one another. We are all sustained by one another. It is a funny manipulation that the Creator has given us. Our connection is neither circular nor linear, we are connected by some other force that is neither logical nor emotional. And despite the human need to advance beyond what is considered "savage" that natural will always, always creep in to remind of us who we are.
