The sun was setting in the park in London. The snow glimmered back into the sky, creating a whitish glare back at those who glanced. Orange and red hues were scattered across the shadows of the snow, footprints pressing the snow deeper into the ground. Not stilettos this time. The happy, thin heeled shoes that had become a favourite accessory to the girl. She dusted the snow out of her cherry, straight hair and took her place on the bench in front of the frozen pond. Ducks waddled their way across the ice, slipping and slapping their feet against the cold, hard surface. She looked down at her frostbitten hands, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. She hadn't been home for a week. She had been wearing the same, long black coat, blue snow boots, black sweater, and blue sweater skirt. She had been frequenting pubs and bars with the money she had taken with her and had been stopping at this park to reminisce on the good parts of her life while the sun set and the moon hung overhead, stars dotting the sky.

She couldn't bear being where she was anymore. Being taken advantage of because of her passion and her will power. Being broken down because he was the only one who could do that to her. She loved him and he used her for his own words. She would threaten to leave and he would throw her love in her face. 'You don't love me then,' he would say and she could apologise. 'You wouldn't worry if you trusted me. We can't have a relationship without trust,' he would repeat after she spent hours yelling at him, begging him to let her in on his life. What else could she want to run away from? She was glad she had not allowed herself to become part of his name and his family. That would have hindered her decision to look up at the night sky and wonder where she went wrong. She wouldn't be able to escape from the love hell he had created around her. He had constantly made her feel like she was putting a burden on him by loving him so much and she was going to remove it.

Warm hands covered her cold ones, almost like a charm spreading through her fingers. She looked up, blue eyes inquisitively meeting clear eyes. Rivalries falling and burning in the snow as he tilted his head towards her, blonde locks falling to one side of his face. He could tell she was cold - any idiot could. He sat beside her and thought about his own situation. In love also. Mistreated also. He was in a verbally abusive relationship. Constantly told that he was not going to amount to anything - that he would never be anything to her. He stayed with her to prove her wrong. But he could never seem to do this in her eyes. There was always something that was below her standards and he would have to jump over three story buildings to attain glory in her eyes. But he couldn't do such a thing. He decided a walk was what he needed and luckily enough, stumbling across a victim of a similar crime, but no prosecution.

He gave her an understanding look. Their eyes told a story to each other, hurt and disappointment trailing through their orbs. Analysis was easily made, telling a tale of hurt and endangerment of heart. Of abuse and never being good enough. Of forsaken love and unjust mistakes. He nodded sharply at her and she nodded back, her eyes looking down at her hands intertwined with his. He squeezed herself and she wanted to offer a smile, but it was nearly impossible. He looked back at her. "Pansy." He said, looking up at the sky. The sun was streaking across the sky now, purples and blues lining the top and orange across the horizon. Streetlights were flickering on and she met his eyes again. "Harry." The pain they felt was enormous - so much pain in equal amounts that they could feel it radiating from each other. He stood and she stood alongside him. They were having a conversation between their broken hearts and misguided souls. Their misused trusts were becoming friends and their mistakes that blew up in their faces were learning how each other worked. He embraced her tightly, exuding the feeling that everything would soon be okay, before taking her cold hands and leading her home.
