oh dear lord, i'm working in a plague office. at least one person has gone home sick with the stomach flu, another is feeling unwell and currently MIA and another has some sort of head cold. SERIOUSLY. i will be hygienically sealing my office now kthx. ugh. i just have to hold anything off until monday -- i can handle missing some practices, just not my half marathon or cup soccer games.
that would be the other thing, wooo, half marathon this sunday! at 9am PST i will embark upon my first official half marathon. it's kind of hard to believe and at the same time i've gotten used to the idea and already plan to run another one in may. it's kind of weird. i do things now that i wouldn't have done five years ago. for instance, i ran home after soccer practice on tuesday. i remember when i was in crew people would run to or from the boat house from campus and i was just like, ahahah, AS IF. but now i'm willing to incorporate it into my own training plans. i actually get up in the morning to follow my training plans. this is insanity. i like it, but it's insane.
updates on other facets of kirsten's insanity: computer still needs to go to the "doctor"; got home monday night to find that someone had tried to jimmy my car window and although not broken, moisture has once again gotten in and my car is officially moldering. fuckers. i have to get it detailed -- again. then on tuesday my cell phone just died. no warning, no nothing, just dead on my way to soccer practice. had my discman also died the next anyone would have heard from me was on handmade paper, written with a burnt stick telling how i had gone to live off the land as i had received signs that i was not meant for the technological age.
fortunately for us all, i fiddled with the battery and my phone lives again! you better believe i've copied out all of my phone numbers though -- which i hadn't done in about a year. and of course telus doesn't support phones with sim cards so had my phone been dead-dead, i'd have been hooped. ah well, it wasn't and i have my numbers and in a month and a half i will be free of telus. hurrah!
i tripped and fell into a funk earlier this week but i think i'm working out of it. it's one of those things where i've just got to let my heart figure out how far it's going to go, what are the new borders and what kind of treaties are going to be established. so, that'll probably take another 6 months and then i estimate i'll be completely on top of it. yep. that's the game plan kids. are we impressed yet?
ohhh! i got my fbi clearance! one step closer to my permanent residency application, zictory! if and when i get my car detailed and to the shop, i hope to drive it on down in the beginning of may to get my individual state police reports and then leave the car with the folks to be sold. i'm just not using it and it's not practical.
