Semi-colon and Dark Tower OD
Long days, pleasant nights.
Last night Max and I went to see a production of La Boheme at the Brown Theater. It was really fun, even though we missed the first two acts (we were late and then decided to eat while waiting for intermission). He thought he would be overdressed because he was wearing the suit he bought for M & J's wedding (minus the tie) but it turned out he looked gorgeous. So did I; I wore my Zara dress (of course it needed to be tailored; outside of jeans and tees my clothes usually do). The opera was quite nice. I haven't been in forever and it was nice to be reminded of the richly unique smell of the theater, the long lines to the bathroom (that miraculously my bladder didn't request the pleasure of my appearance in) at the intermission, and the "non-German engineered" escalator whose equally archaic partner needed to be switched to the opposite direction.
Later we went to the Skyline Bar at the top of the Hilton. 24th floor, say thankya. Unfortunately it closed early but not so soon that we couldn't have a gin and tonic (the Max and Jenn drink of choice aside from scotch) and enjoy the view, downtown Houston if it do ya fine. When it closed we went to the bar downstairs in the lobby where some company was having a get-together. We stayed for a while, made fun of the people who looked like they didn't belong, and went back to his house. His friends were watching the Top Gear episode with the invincible Toyota pick-up/amphibious cars, hehe. So good. The next day we watching It's Pat. I can't believe he watched it with me. I was so embarrassed that my friends and I used to watch that movie obsessively, and adopted its vernacular.
Here is a list of ten things I thought today, in no particular order:
1. What Morgan said to me two nights ago.
2. What Mojo's doing.
3. How perfect Max's nose is.
4. I'm having a skinny day.
5. I'm going to get obese from jalapeno cream cheese bites.
6. How hot we are.
7. I am a Puccini nerd.
8. My major is all wrong, even though my ten-minute friend at the Hilton says we need more conservatives in the media.
9. I used to be photogenic, operative phrase: used to be...
10. I am stressed, I think I may have fibromyalgia, and I don't know what I want to do with my life, and I am the luckiest girl in the world, say thankya.
