305 came to the 973/212
This weekend was awesome. Miguel, Maria and Mike came from MIami to visit me and see NY. Ipicked them up on Friday morning at JFK and it took me 2 hours to get there - damn! but it was so worth it. THey stayed at the Howard Johnson in newark right by my old neighborhood for only $60 a night. So me and Joel got a cooler and an air mattress and got ready to party the night away.
Friday :
THey came in. We got back to the hotel around 1pm and hitup Newark to get some portguese bbq. ME MAria and Joel picked up Pulaskis bbq and brought it back to the hotel. We decided to take out because we wanted to drink before hittin up the village. THen around 3pm Me MAria Mike and MIguel hit up the village. The 305'ers were a little upset Joel couldn't come with us but he had to go take his freinds to the aiport - they were going to Vegas. So we took the NJ path from Newark and hit up the village. I love the village and was destined to party there all weekend. THe only problem was it was definately a little chilly. Mike was not feeling this. It was hilarious. We got off on 9th and hit the first bar off the train. I think it was called Greenwhich Village bar and restaurant. THey were having happy hour til 4 - so we got a few beers and h it off to Bleeker St. We then found another bar i think it was called 1845 and they were having a happy hour til 8pm. So we pretty much stayed in the city til 9pm and headed to Hoboken. Joel was going to meet us there so we just took the train straight there. (Hoboken is in Jersey and about 10 min from where they were staying).
We got off in Hoboken and headed to Black Bear. I hitup that bar everytime I go into Hoboken. We started drinking and we were trashed. Then Joel brought up the idea of going back to the hotel room and smoking up. We were pretty drunk at that point around 11:30pm ( i know early) and decided now was a good time. We headed back to the hotel room and smoked up. Damn we were tore up and then passed out. IT was good we got back fairly early because we had a long day ahead of us.
Saturday:
we woke up around 9am and i was a mess. I had been sick all week and with the alcohol I had a bad hangover. I just got some gatorade and had to deal with it. We headed to newark again and grabbed up some pizza and heade d for the train station. They wanted to see a New York museum so we decided to hitup the Museum of Natural History. This was a great idea until we realized the train that went there didnt run on the weekends and we asked around for an alternate route. We couldnt find someone who worked for the station so some guy waiting for the train told us how to get there. Big Mistake. We endde up on the train for 2 hours and in queens. WTF. We were so sick of being on the train - and got directions back. So we decided to just go to Mars 2112 instead because it was already 230pm. Everyone was psyched abotu that restaurant - especially mike because he loved the whole sci-fi alien thing. we finally got to times square and hit it up - it was awesome. I even suprised mike with tellin the waiteress it was his b-day and they sang to him. It was fun and the restaurant was really cool.
We then headed walked around times square and hitup the famous Toys R us. Miguel and mike loved it. We all did. Then we headed over to Central Park and Rockefellar Center. Rockefeller Center looks so different when its not winter. CEntral Prk was beautiful. TOday thankfully was warmer and it was a great day ot walk inthe city. We even saw Mark Wahlberg. I cant believe it this was the second time I saw him. We really did see alot on Saturday. and were exhausted so we headed back to Jersey. Once again taking the train. Man i love NY but hate taking the train. Once we got back to the hotel we started drinking again and then decided to head back into the city. Judy met up with us at the hotel and we heade out to the the village. I was a little cranky because I was so tired, sick and cold. It was a really cold night. But it didnt matter we went to Bleeker and hitup a couple of bars. The first one "Off the Wagon" was packed so then we just partied at Groove. IT had live music - so it made it really cool. We got back to the hotel around 330 and smoked again. It was almost 5am when we hit the hay.
Sunday - we woke up around 10am and packed up. I dropped Joel off bnecause he was really sick - i think his sinuses were getting the best of him and then we went to a diner in elizabeth. Diners are real popular in Jersey and I wanted to give them that experience. We then headed to JFK took abotu an hour and 1/2 and it was time to say goodbye. Which is so sad - I loved to see my peeps.
One thing is for sure they wont be m issing the cold or the path train - but they did like the city. They were talking about coming back which is awesome!!!!! And im trying to see if i can get down there. They loved Joel and kept inviting us to come down so they can show us the real Miami. We will definately try becaus money is always an issue. Well Im sick of typing. One thing is for sure I was missing my freinds and got the dose I needed to keep me happy. I miss the 305'ers. And Mari a said she has a 2 bedroom apt that is always open! We'll Im out.
