this weekend was pretty good as weekends go. friday - i worked and crystal, a girl i work with, took me to taco truck!!! we went to leo's which is obviously better than rambos. it was sooo good, first time ive had it this semester. there were so many drunk oxy people there and we laughed at them. saturday i had a geology fieldtrip. it was actually really nice and relaxing, we drove out to a beach and walked around and looked at different rock formations. there was a packet to be filled out but we got credit just for being there. the forecast was rain but the sun was shining and it was a gorgeous day. then saturday night, cocktail party part 2!
the menu was: white russians, sex on the beach, cosmos, and martinis!
we even got the little plastic cocktail glasses and olives for the martinis. it was just a little bit wonderful! i really have so much fun mixing drinks, although my martinis need a little work. not as many people came by as last time but it was almost better because my room was way less crowded and it was agreed it was a more social event overall. also, several people that i have friend crushes on were invited and came. another success overall. nick's friend cam from debate formerly of GBN, now my friend, also drove over from clairmont which was really exciting. hes a cool guy and it was just really nice to see a face from home, just very reassuring. ive been really homesick lately, not in a dehabilitating way but just in a longing kind of way. also im hoping to go visit him sometime after spring break, its always really nice to get out of the oxy bubble.
but then today i was talking with my mom and asked her if it would be possible to come home for passover, and she went into this whole speech about how she was really happy that i appreciated my jewishness and how a friend's daughter just got engaged but the fiancee was nonjewish and the family was practically sitting shiva and how she was glad that i dated jewish guys. oy. but i might come home for passover! i really want to because id get to come home and my cousins dena and jared are coming home too and i really want to see them, especially after what just happened to jared's roommate.
