New Comic Day Tomorrow!
Well after having my first Cap omnibus order canceled, I've just now today ordered it again for the lolomgz price of 50 flippin' dollars. It's not that it's not worth every damn penny, it's just that it's FIFTY DOLLARS. So yeah, I'll be much happier once it arrives and I can cuddle it. Other things of note are a decent article in the Washington Post about the new Cap and his gun (here) and my having only managed to watch one episode of GaoGaiGar last night. The series is supposed to be picking up steam, but I just find myself less enthused about watching it. The 20s can't come fast enough.
And with new comic day coming tomorrow, I thought it'd be cool to list what I plan on catching.
Marvel:
CAPTAIN AMERICA #31:
I don't know if I can say enough how much I love this series, and now that the Red Skull and Bucky are showing up in it more and more, my love is growing EVEN STRONGER.
MARVEL COMICS PRESENTS #2:
I liked the first issue a lot, for both the serials and the one-shot stories, I'm hoping the second issue doesn't drop the one-shots in favor of an all-serial format.
MARVEL ZOMBIES 2 #1:
I enjoyed the first series, but haven't liked any of the spin-offs, so I'm hoping this is more like the original. Not expecting much really, just some zombie fun.
MIGHTY AVENGERS #5:
I don't know why I still read this book. The thought bubbles annoy me and the delays are taking away whatever impact what's happening in the story was supposed to have. Tony Stark isn't dead btw, lol.
TERROR, INC. #3:
Oh my god, this series is so freaking awesome. Terror is such an awesome character, it almost makes me sad that the series is limited, this would be an awesome ongoing.
DC:
THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD #7:
I've been meaning to check out this series because it's MOTHERFUNKING WAID, but I hadn't gotten around to it, I think I'll try this issue and if it's any good then I'll hope back to the beginning and give the first six a read.
CHECKMATE #19:
I probably shouldn't try to do what I'm doing with Brave/Bold with Checkmate, but I'm going to do it anyway. The series always looked interesting to me, and after reading more Rucka comics, I'm thinking it might be time to give the series a shot.
COUNTDOWN #28:
I just read this to laugh at how bad it is. One can only hope Final Crisis has nothing to do with Countdown.
DEATH OF THE NEW GODS #1 (OF 8):
I'm pretty 99% sure this is going to be complete shit. So I'm going to read it and laugh at how bad it is. Joke's on me if it ends up being worth a damn.
JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA #14:
What a horrible week for DC. Yet another series I'm following just because it sucks so bad I can't believe it. I had high hopes for McDuffie and so far he's flushed them all down the shitter.
And that's about it for now, planning on reading my Iron Fist and X-Factor hardcovers tomorrow, so I'll probably post about them and whatever GaoGaiGarring I can manage tonight tomorrow. Now I have to go do the dishes. >_>
