one more rhyme for your mind, one more line in my time.

when everything was ours
when we were a world
a singular body in space, on it's own course
it never did occur to me that time was never on our side
for it curves, slowly it bends and always leads to another plane.

now this is not hindsight
now call this awareness
at this constant tangent of this slow turn, the course is straight
it never did occur to me that we were veering off the path
and the straight line was to the grinning universe an orbit.

the universe that creates stars
this universe that destroys stars
surely could easily destroy a world, and so it did.

a ghost, a rhyme, a time, a tree
the most beautiful curse of my memory
the sun, the moon, the earth, the sky
the one heavenly body that will never die.
