Quick update: never heard from my lawyer after a couple of different calls, but I did hear from Michelle, the paralegal/legal secretary/whatever-she-is, and she says that even when the report shows up, it won't mean anything for court on Thursday, that my attorney will be asking for a continuance.
I guess the lawyers want the report ten days prior to court so they can read over, process, analyze the findings, then go over it all with the client, then decide on a course of action, if needed. That obviously takes time to do, especially with other cases to work on. So the 10 day thing is common practice.
So atleast I already know to expect to be in and out on Thursday, just however long it takes to ask for a continuance, but that means I have to ask for even more time off now. My boss is being awesome, giving me whatever I need, but I don't want to push it. Sigh.
Otherwise, I still need to leave another message today saying that if the report comes in, that I'd like the attorney to at least look up and see if I'm still primary caregiver. That's all I really care about at this point. This is my life we're talking about, I hope she could find a few minutes to call me and scan over it.
