Sorry about not posting last night, if you were waiting on pins and needles. I fell asleep at 6:45 pm last night and didn't wake until 6 am this morning.
No record store in this frigging city has The Who Sell Out on CD, and apparently even warehouses don't have a copy either. What gives? Is the album so good that people snatch up copies by the dozens, and then hoard them? I might have to go the online auction route. Maybe I'll try to pick up some Siouxsie and the Banshees while I'm at it. Can't hardly find any of their stuff in this two-bit town.
I estimate I hit my head at work today at least a half dozen times. My estimate for this week (which began Tuesday since I had the 4th off) is 10. I swear, my head must be large enough to generate a gravitation field that pulls heavy objects toward it. I also estimate my propensity for cracking my head on very solid objects is a contributing factor toward my inability to remember things, like my age.
Went to the Cards game on Sunday. Sat up in the nosebleeds, but I got to vaguely see (if you squint real hard, the players look like red and white ants) the Cardinals take the win in the 9th inning. Maybe I should go to the ballpark again this week, make it three weekends in a row.
Ran what I consider a pretty neat Star Wars RPG session on Tuesday. I estimate I spent about 8 hours planning the thing. Going to do the first half of a two-parter next week.
Would any of the SWRPG group be interested in fictionalizing our games? After all, I try to write some compelling material.
Oh, and by the way, when you started groaning about me ripping off 2001: A Space Odyssey, and then you found out I did the exact opposite - please, did you think I was going to blatantly do that? I have more respect for you all's intelligence for that :D.
Finally, want to wrap up on a political note. The
Libertarian Party website has a six-page
plan for exiting Iraq (in .pdf form) that almost makes too much sense to be a political course of action. In clear language, this plan refutes the Bush Administration's p.r. about the war, occupation and assaults on US troops in Iraq, lays out a definite one-year timetable for withdrawal of all but 30,000 troops from the Middle East and total withdrawal from Iraq and calls for a direct-aid free-market
Marshall Plan-style program to support the fledgling Iraqi government. Think it can't be done? Give it a read. Seriously, it'll take 10 minutes of your time, appeals to your intellect and reason and not the pissing contest of "who's the bigger patriot" and has a shot at working.
I won't lecture you about keeping up with politics. I just feel a personal responsibility as a citizen of the United States to at least stay informed about the political process and, when possible, do something about it.
