my time unconscious and paralyzed, first in the ICU and then later in the 'halo' [metal frame literally screwed in to my skull through my skin] as well as the neck brace means when i was in hospital for the first few months after i shattered my neck they didn't brush my teeth ONCE which MEANS my teeth now SUCK MOST HEARTILY...i need sooo much work

They didn't brush your teeth??? I'm ... stunned. Stunned and angry. And pissed off. I'm sure that brushing your teeth would have been tricky, but I thought they had ways to do it.

(I also had to go through a huge amount of dental work thanks to a couple years of undiagnosed type 1 - lot of sugar gets into the saliva, apparently. I still am pissed off about that. If my parents hadn't been able to help me out financially with the dental work, I'm sure I'd be missing teeth now)

nope they didn't, and i was in ICU for about 2 months alone, most of which i barely remember [i was pretty 'touch & go' for most of my ICU time, plus the extreme pain and my med tolerances = mainlining morphine and ketamine constantly which doesn't exactly make for clear thinking or coherent memory], and so i wasn't aware they weren't...only once i was conscious and able to even think about anything more than 'holy fuck i'm completely paralyzed omg omg omg!!! wait, then why does it hurt SO FUCKING MUCH?!' i realized they hadn't been doing it AT ALL...once i realized i asked and they just DON'T DO IT, you have to get your own from home and have someone you know DO IT FOR YOU....thank you civic hospital, the WORST FUCKING HOSPITAL I HAVE EVER BEEN IN [aside from their ICU which, aside from the whole teeth thing, took great care of me]....when i realized they hadn't been doing it i lost my mind...also i was pretty much the most repulsed with myself i ever remember being! and talk about financially fucked, like i'm going to be able to get
