Roman Dirge updates his LJ so little anymore that I forget he's on my friends' list. Not that I blame him - he has a REAL life to attend to.
I was reading his latest post and thinking that of all the mean things people said about me in middle or high school, one of the LEAST true is definitely that some freak like me will never do anything with their life. Well, it's true if by "do anything" they meant get a 8-5 job, wear a suit and heels, have an office on the 25th floor and drive a Lexus. And to the people who made such comments to me, I'm sure that seems like the ideal life, and I'm totally missing out in their eyes. That was the hardest thing for me to do in arguing with people in high school - convincing them that what they thought the perfect life was, wasn't what I wanted, and taunting me that I would never have it really didn't faze me at all. Also, convincing them I didn't worship Satan was pretty hard.
I have an exam tomorrow that I should be studying for, but this rainy weather has me so sleepy. It seems like everyone else is dragging, too. I know I'll regret this on our first 85 degree day, but...I'm looking forward to summer. At least it will be bright.
(And every summer, I look forward to winter and say, "At least it won't be hot...")
