First day of work, and My Voting Adventure
Well, I had my first day of training on the floor today. I had to be there at 5:53, and no later. lol
You have to punch in 7 minutes early for report. The residents were really nice, and it was a pretty mellow day. There's not a whole lot of combative people on the main floor, and it seems pretty laid back. I only have one more day of 6-2 before I start my training on 2-10s.
Also what's really exciting is I get a $1000 sign on bonus! Woohoo! They also pay for $50 of a $63 pair of shoes that I'm very excited about as well.
Once I got on the floor all my nerves fell away and it was like riding a bike. My instincts never left me, and everything came back to me.
ON TO THE VOTING.
Since I just moved here a little over a month ago, I had to register there before I voted, and WHY OH WHY of all days did I forget my wallet with my photo ID? I never do that, but I did today. Geesh.
It was pretty mellow though, I went after work, and I got right in and right out, even after having to go home the 4 blocks away to go get my ID.
I wasn't planning on voting. Maybe it was the influence of my old George Carlin CDs and my friends quoting them too much, but I really am glad I voted.
