Why, Bunny! Back so Soon?

Today's hair:  soft, flippy, shiny, messy, and very very flat

It's true, but don't get used to it.  Bunny is untamed.  She can't be pinned down to a schedule.  But hey!  The new meds seem to be working, so hooray for you.

So yesterday I actually made dinner.  I surprised myself.  I've been listening to therapist number two nag and nag me about eating protein, so I thought I'd go to Glutton Place for some meat.  And again they had Kobe beef on sale for the same price as the regular stuff, but in the end, it was yuck.  I couldn't do it.  Poor cows.

So then I thought:  Salmon!  So I went to the fish counter.  And I looked at the fish.  And looked.  But it was no good.  I'm supposed to eat salmon.  It's good for me.  I keep trying.  I keep buying it and at least half the time I cook it before it goes bad but here's the thing:  I JUST DON'T LIKE IT.  At least not when I cook it.  Why force it?  No salmon will be bought.  I got scallops.  They were ridiculously expensive because they're out of season, but I bought them, so there you go.

And then I got home and opened a bottle of Soave.  And after that, I decided I wasn't going to cook, no way and hell no.  But when it came to be dinner time and The Man suggested takeout (again), I broke my solemn vow and thought:  There is no takeout that is as good as what I can make myself.  So I cut the scallops in half horizontally and I seared them in olive oil and I removed them to a plate.  And I made a garlic and lemon sauce and added the juices from the scallops and tossed the whole thing with linguine fini.  And it was good.  And it could have used maybe a chiffonade of parsley, but we didn't have any parsley and anyway I'm not so sure I had the knife skills for that given the deliciousness of the Soave.

And I'm making dinner tonight too!  I've already got my cabbage shredded and my carrots chopped and that's the tedious part so now I can toss together a cabbage and tofu curry in about 20 minutes.  I have been craving veg lately, but haven't been up to cooking them, and we all know that The Man is not going to be cooking any veg for me unless it's a matter of zapping something in the microwave.

That would be cooking two nights in a row.  A new modern record!  I really like these new meds.  Also, I don't seem to need sixteen hours of sleep a day any more.  And although The Man thinks he got the computer infected last night, the wireless, the modem, and my laptop are OK so I'm not cut off from the world.

Did you know that, unlike in my real life, in my cyber life, there are other people out there who appreciate calcio?  Ha!  If you are reading me on LJ, you probably don't need me to translate that for you.  'Tis a miracle it is.  I am not a freak.  Not because of this, anyway.

Although tomorrow is a work at home day, I am going into the office because I have to see therapist number one and her office is near work.  'Sall good.  Ever since we ran out of work, going into the office is not such a drag, once I get my ass out of bed, bathed, and dressed.

Would you like to meet my beagles?  You would?  Excellent.

This is Kirby.  He keeps a very close eye on his Dirtbunny.

And this is Tiki.  He's cute, but he's also very naughty.

No, they are not brothers.  I could go on and on, but let's save that for another time.

So, dinner is half made, and here are my other goals for the night:

  1. Program the DVR to record tomorrow's Peace Cup semifinals, because Juve is playing and I will be at work.
  2. Check on how Roma did in its Europa League qualifier.
  3. Start at least start one load of laundry.  Just one.  It won't be so bad.
  4. Pack almonds to take to work so therapist number two can stop nagging me about having a protein snack available at work.
Yeah.  That's enough.  I'm very fragile you know, and I need my leisure time.

juve, kirby, food, did you know, tiki
