So I was doing a rant and I looked up Tom Henning Ovrebo and that led me to look at the list of refs approved for WC2010 and OMG.  I am older than every single referee on the list except for two.  I don't feel that musty and uncool.  I don't even think I look that uncool.  However, I'm not sure if it is still cool to use the word "cool" when referring to things that are cool, and I don't recognize anyone on the cover of People magazine anymore.  I think I'm going to rebel tomorrow by wearing earrings that don't match, which used to be way cool back in the day AND STILL IS because no one else of my generation at the ole workhole would dream of risking their professional stature by wearing non-matching earrings.  (I would, but I haven't much professional stature left to lose, and I pretty much stopped caring when I learned that good does not always triumph over evil and that my generation probably wasn't going to change the world for the better when it started running things.)  Ah fuck em.  Since when do earrings have anything to do with the quality of my work?
