Today was my first official day of teaching. I have four English 9 Classes. I'm not too tired from it, but that is only because tomorrow is Friday and it's reading day, so I don't have to do anything. I was nervous my first hour, I wasn't very good and I went really fast. During Second and Third I chilled a bit and I got better. Fifth hour went well for it being my trouble hour. I mainly lectured all day and then I rewarded them with a Shakespeare insult kit for having to listen to me. I need to come up with some other fun stuff, otherwise we'll have a revolt by the end of next week!!!!!!
Monday, we'll start Romeo and Juliet and I'll be observed by my Education Professor (he's soooo going to ream me!). I think next week I'll be taking over World History too. We were going to go straight to exploration, but Mr. Clause decided "that they should probably know that whole Renaissance stuff, it being part of the Middle Ages and all". Yes, excellent. Last time I checked the Ren. was in its own era, a sign of being out of the Middle Ages and the birth of the modern age, but hey, I got all that new-fangled college learnin'--why am I letting it get in the way of brevity, hasty generalizations and statements such as, "The Jews were the whipping boys of civilization because they don't fight back" and "I don't get that whole white Christianity thing." Which one student replied "Do you get that whole Tan Christianity" Who-Ha to Ms. Kourtnee! Anywho, I might have to teach the children something really simple--the truth.
