07/15/2004 MARVIN STANLEY CARTER JR. JERICHO - Marvin Stanley Carter Jr., 70, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2004, in Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, surrounded by his loving family. Marvin was born in St. Albans, Dec. 2, 1933, the son of the late Marvin and Mary (Clark) Carter. He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1952. Marvin served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict, stationed in Germany. He married Juliane Bichlmaier on Dec. 31, 1956, in Spangdalem, Germany. Marvin graduated from Vermont Technical College in May 1960, where he graduated first in his class as the valedictorian. Marvin was employed by the FAA in Burlington from 1961 to 1988. He and his wife Julie have enjoyed traveling in their motor home since his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Julie of Jericho; as well as his children, Marvin Stanley Carter III and his wife Anne of Rochester, N.H., Thomas Carter and his wife Karen of Jeffersonville, and his daughter, Juliane Hudson and her husband George of Jericho. He also leaves four granddaughters; Jennifer and Alicia Carter and Juliane and Katelyn Hudson; his two sisters, Helen Kew of Montpelier, and Marjorie Freeman of Middlebury; one brother, Stanley Carter of Tunkhannock, Pa.; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Eric, in 1998; and a sister, Janice Perkins, in 1956. Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, July 17, from 11a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Corbin & Palmer Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Essex Junction, with graveside services to follow at 2 p.m. in the Underhill Flats Cemetery, Underhill.
