The evolutionary arms race is alive and well!

Sybill, my little bush parrot, did you hide a man in the hall closet? I was looking for my album of bird feathers and he just sort of fell out. His mouth was stuffed up with a few of our party invites, so that's why we didn't notice him before, I suppose. Is he one of your friends? I always lose track of your guests.

N.A.F. Scamander has gone off on one of his PHASES again; he has me gutting brown jays this week, HUNDREDS of dead polluted ones. It's not bad work, though. They're bloody good at mimicry (not when they're dead obviously!), so it might be useful to study their voices to see if their abilities can be harnessed for spells, maybe charms for scouting or crypsis or summat. What a THRILLING species!

Total bird carcasses dissected in the past week: 152
Bird carcasses dissected in the past week while hungover or, in a few cases, still drunk: 146

I had Bones keep track for me, in return for a picnic lunch one of these days. How's butties and beans sound? We've got some bacon lying around, I suspect. It's been days since I've been in the kitchen.
