We had a small show last night, it was intimate and sweet. Yah, i made this website cuz pretty soon we will be putting videos and other media on the http//:diremistakes.tripod.com site, so all these journal entries might take up too much space. Also, the livejournal set up is much easier.

OK, so this might seem a little formule but our second guitarist Teddy isn;t our second guitarist anymore. The main problem with him is that he is stuck in the 70s/80s and hasn't adapted to today's music. We are not trying to be a tribute band to something old, but to develop new, tribute worthy songs. Teddy wanted solos a lot and stuff like that. And don;t get me wrong, solos are cool, but we'd rather the same hard guitar with other things going on as well. We're trying to be more dymanic and diverse. But Teddy is in Circular Logic, a Classic Rock/ Green Day tribute band, so you can check that out. WE are having a mini-show at Preston's on friday. We are going to play a new, barely half way done two days before the concert song too. PS; no beal house show, no room.

Hi Everybody ( pat fahey and chris). OK, so we are recording on the 18th. Pretty sweet. We don;t have second guitar for lots of the parts, and yu can see that the 18th is a mere 14 days away. Soo....we are going to have practices on school days [ ¡gasp! ] We are recording The Black Cat, Horseshoes and Handgrenades, and Ctrl + Alt + Delete, maybe a song in the works, and we have a special request for Teddy's The Griz Biz.
For shows, we may have a show at the Beal House with the Infirmary ( or the Infir NASTY! ) and The Kite Factory.
Lastly, we wanna thank the people that give us support, and all the people that are collecting pocket change to buy our demo. Remember kids, music speaks all languages.

Hey the show last weekend was ok...we could have done much better: or preston could have anyways. ha jp. It seems like Goonan and Teddy are joining the band, no more mike hokanson. We have this nice new guitarist, and a piano to tighen up our sound.

OK we jammed with Buckley last weekend, and we had a small acoustic performance for a few select people. We did Cute Without the E it was pretty sweet. Whats in store this week:

Summer is getting closer and closer and that means a lot for dire mistakes. We usually write most of our stuff/ play the most. Plus, we move from the basement to the garage. So we are gonna have a lot of shows this summer, pending on where we can have them. SO if you have any ideas on where to play or you wanna organise your OWN concert, just tell us

We played at the MAyflower Tavern today, only three songs tho. It was pretty sweet, cuz each band had a timelimit and the guy was like one more song, ok? so we played the 7+ minute song. We did pretty good, Tyler broke a stick, preston dropped his pick, and i, george, master of all that is holy, got excepted into some excelling excellent eliptical Berkley camp that only a select few people go to.

Sup its preston. we had a band practice at hokansons house today and didnt get much accomplished. I determined that Hokanson definately has some form of ADD or anyother mental disorder where you suck at paying attention, cuz we'd talk to him or play a song and he'd just keep goin on his Squier. Hes cool tho. Yah we timed that seven minute song and it wasnt seven minutes.

Today we has some good quotes from the man AKA George. We were talking about the channels on the amp like overdrive or clean i noticed Preston had his on Crunch whena ll of sudden GEaorge butts in with " I have snap,crackle and pop" <------ what a loser thing to say Georgey. After this we woprked on some guitar parts and had some soda (root Beer) and then talked about various shows on the TV and remembered some good childhood memories. After we went downstairs and are writing this journal Entry!!!!!!!!!

Tyler and I had a band practice saturday without the Ball Crushing Man Rock. We pretty much finsihed a new song except for one part in the middle that i have to work on. But the songs kinda like a story in that at the beginning the character is waiting for some girl to come home. And as the song changes from slow to aggressive the girl gets in a car crash and such. Its pretty cool. Oh yah Ball Crushing Man Rock is George for those of you who dont know. We decided to follow the lead of "Slash", "The Edge", "Flea" and many others in giving one of our members an intimidating, yet mildly horrible name. And i think Ball Crushing Man Rock gets it's point across.
