All right, everyone, I'm here to give you the low-down on what exactly is happening in my life at the moment. For those of you who don't know, my Dad was diagnosed with cancer almost two years ago. He's been going to the City of Hope in LA for quite some time now for treatment. Its been taxing on my whole family. Several months ago, things had been better. The cancer had not been eliminated, but it at least wasn't growing. However, cancer is a bitch and we found out that it had spread to other areas of his body. So, he went on more drugs to see what happened. It didn't work as well as planned, and the cancer has continued to move around. About a month ago, my Dad started having problems with motor skills and memory. He was also getting headaches. He got a catscan, and it was discovered that the cancer had spread to his brain. This is more serious stuff, to the point that my Dad has decided to start smoking again and stop any curative treatments. Anything he takes will be to stop any pain he might have. Also, my parents have contacted hospice. I don't know exactly how that's going to affect my life, but I assure all of you I am not going to board up myself in my house and stop my social life. I'm just not going to able to get out as much, because I'm going to be helping take care of my Dad. We can expect, however, within a year, major changes in the number of people in my immediate family. Thanks for listening. Take care. -J.S.
