I can't believe I was goaded into thinking that the end of the world had truly come. It would be such a despondent world . . . far away from Akane-san and everything I hold dear . . .
Today, the City is littered with candy hearts. A reminder that Valentines' Day is near, and Akane-san is so far away . . . Akane-san . . .
There is a strange compulsion to eat these candy hearts . . .
[A pause as he picks one up.]
"Destroy."
[Another pause as he puts it into his mouth.]
