I was in for a little shock yesterday. I went down to the DMA to meet a couple people and listen to their Jazz concert yesterday. More on that in a bit. Afterwards I figured I'd call Mike since he lives downtown and haven't seen him in a while. He finally picks up and sounds really sleepy, little unusual since this is about 9pm. Turns out he is on vaction in Italy and I didn't know and I woke him up sometime in the morning. Ooops. Since when did local calls forward themselves all the way to Italy(Europe)? I have to say I was a little shocked. Anyone know if this is some new feature for all cell phones?
The
Jazz performance at the DMA was really good. Much better then I expected. It was a four piece band and one vocalist. It started later then I expected so I missed the first set. I'm not sure if this group was particularly popular, but it was pretty crowded. Still well worth going to if you get a chance. It runs through Sept 28 with a different artist every Thursday night. The museum is free too and open till midnight (IIRC) so it's a great chance to look around. There is a lot more going on downtown then I thought, I just never really knew where to look for it. Kind of makes me wish I moved futher south. :-/
