Food tastes better...

...when you pay for it. I went to Qdoba today for lunch just before a four hour meeting. My burrito was all made and I reached for my wallet to pay. As I pulled my wallet out I remembered my card had been declined this morning for gas so I paid with cash, leaving me with one dollar. Panic sets in so I try the card anyway. Declined. (I still have called) But wait! I have an American Express I never use! I ask if they take American Express and they answer in the affirmative. So I pull out my Amex card and notice it expired in 09/04. My new card is right behind it but I never called to activate it. After some profuse apologies they let me eat it anyway. Luckily I still had enough time to make to an ATM, pay for lunch and get to the meeting in time. Hats off to the nice people at Qdoba!

This week finally marks the end of the chaos going on here at work. Since late July early August things had been getting busier and busier here until it peaked last week where I was working 20 hour days starting that weekend. Fortunately like most Hollywood movies things have fallen off quickly and it's almost back to normal this week. As a reward for all the hard work I received a plastic skeleton with a gun shot wound to the forehead. I think that's a sign of things to come since we have finished the deal outsourcing the software I work on. I've been promoted twice and now I'm in charge of two contractors who are more qualified to do my job then I am. Of course that doesn't come with any benefits, only more responsibilities. Of course they tell me I'll have a hirer chance of getting a raise. That's just great. We haven't had raises in 3 years. Even if we do I may get a 0.5% instead of 0. I'd rather go back to being a peon. At least our boss bought us dinner at Maggiano's tonight so we got something out of it. (even if it was the company that paid) Hopefully I'll have time to see some of you again. (^_^)

Even with all the work I've still managed to play City of Heroes some more. Flaming Mime (AR/Dev) is now level 41 and Templar Ted (BS/Regen) is level 40. I have a controller and defender in the 20s I haven't touched recently. I'm not sure if any of you are still playing, but issue 2 has been great now that most bugs are worked out. The badges are fun to collect although I'm dreading hunting 10,000 monkeys for the Zoo Keeper badge. Frostfire is one of the new low level bosses who absolutely ROCKS. He's in a office map but there is all this ice around that you can slide on. Frostfire himself summons Jack Frost, Fire Imps and uses Flaming Aura, Chilling Embrace...ect. He's a blast to fight. The Eden trial absolutely rocks and requires a good team to complete. You'll need a variety of ATs to do it. I've only tried the sewer trial once so far and it was a blast! You work your way down a huge pit on catwalks (don't fall!) down to the center where the hydra lives. You have to take out four generators at the same time to lower a shield so you can attack the hydra. We came within seconds of winning! 3 more seconds and we would of had him. Our teamwork wasn't very good though and I have good confidence of victory next time around. Chris got on the beta for Matrix online. I haven't seen or heard anything yet but I'm secretly hoping it sucks. I don't want to be tempted to play game. CoH already takes most of the game I should be studying Japanese.

I guess now I need to figure out who to for? When can we vote anyway?

Oh and Congratz to the Red Sox! Freed from the Bambino's curse after 86 years!
