That's going to be the name of my next super-hero. Yes, after years of avoiding MMORPGs I've started to play City of Heros and I'm having a great time. I'm not quite sure why I started playing, it just looked fun and I haven't been disappointed yet. I've been avoiding online games for so long because I've been afraid of the addiction to MUDs I used to have back in high school. I'd spend every possible moment on the game to detriment of my health, sanity and grades. I think I'll be safer with this game since it doesn't involve huge amounts of item collecting like most RPGs. If anyone else plays I'm on Justice server with Templar Ted, Seirei and Dark Clover. If you see Richard-Simmons do some jumping jacks. He'll like that. :-) I'm looking for good names if you have suggestions please post them.
My brother's graduation went well, but it was way way way too long. It took over an hours to start the PhD students and another 4 hours for the engineering school. (That didn't include any of the schools!) I also learned this year is the 50th anniversary of Brown vs Topeka Board of Education. Lani Guinier gave a poorly chosen commencement speech (IMHO). She talked about how minorities and lower class whites were under represented in the top 162 colleges in the US. She claimed they were paying taxes to allow the white middle/upper class families to send their students to college. I don't really disagree with the facts she presented, but she didn't suggest any plan of action for change just a lot of criticism. She did manage to piss off a lot of the audience. One woman to my right looked ready to have a breakdown. I'm glad she couldn't make it to the stage or there would of been a big scene.
My brother is still looking for a job, but he's flying to San Fransico next week to interview with Dreamworks. He said the job is something he'd really like. I wish him luck. Maybe I'll see his name in the credits of the next big blockbuster.
