Enlightened insomnia

The moon shines brightly,
Illuminating technology's glow,
Hitting those keys with a rat-a-tat-tat,
I couldn't expect anything less,
than a rousing occasion.
Staring as my mind drifts into space,
Suddenly I'm engulfed with the presence of another,
That was mine to discover,
and the clock spins faster tonight,
A break from the ordinary,
No useless time spent alone,
can it be that every night,
is as fascinating as tonight.
A wide range of emotions,
as I laugh, and I rarely frown,
I know you're smiling back at me,
Enlightening my insomnia
Wondering what comes next
Pondering your next answer
Endless lines of mimicry
baffling my senses
Could it all be true?
A break from the ordinary
No useless time spent alone
can it be that every night
is as fascinating as tonight
A wide range of emotions
as I laugh, and I rarely frown
I know you're smiling back at me
Enlightening my insomnia
Tonight...
Everything's more than just...alright.
Looking through the sliding door,
I look out to the heavens,
Puzzled at my own reflection,
the lack of deception..the power of direction..
As I go on an escapade from the ordinary,
I feel like we're together in spirit
And how I wish it could last forever
but nothing's cast in stone
I still smile,
At your frozen eyes,
Fixed upon my own,
Wondering why I've ever looked away.
Today is just another day..
but it just seems so much different than yesterday...
In a crazy and mixed up world that we see...
We aren't so much different you and me.
