I did the Race for Life today, with my Mum and Aunt. It was really good and we raised about £1200 for Cancer Research.
Everyone walks/runs with signs pinned to their back saying 'I race for Life for...' and the name or names of people you know who've been affected by cancer. I had on mine, Dad, Ann and John (that's my auntie and uncle)
While I was walking I was looking around at everyones sign and I was nearly crying, I had the biggest lump in my throat. It was so sad to see all those people who've lost someone to cancer. But then you'd see some people who were running for people who had survived. I saw one woman and she had a headscarf on, she was bald, from chemo I'm guessing. And on her back it said 'I Race for Life for everyone affected by cancer including me.'
I saw a Mum and a little girl and on the Mum's sign it said 'I race for life for my beautiful daughter, who is a survivor' And it was the little girl she was with. She ust've only been about 4 and to think of someone so young going through and fighting cancer is so sad, but at the same time so inspiring and I have so much respect for her.

It was really sad seeing it, but there were nearly 3000 women doing it, which I think is amazing, so hopefully a lot of money will be raised.
