I think that objectively for Xander, it's bad that no one with a shred of responsibility knows what's going on at home. However, I'm also hypothesising that Spike's relationship with his mother leaves him with an acute sense of the humiliation Xander might be feeling and that this lines up sufficiently with his essential laziness and desire to continue watching TV in Xander's basement to make him want to slightly reassure Xander. However, I entirely take your point and it's probable that my penchant for H/C has tainted my thinking on this.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.

I struggled a bit with Oz and wondering what he would do. We know he's prepared to make some pretty large sacrifices for Willow around this time [cf: Choices], but I thought the boy-silence-code might kick in for Xander.

I like the Spike one a lot. There's no way that stuff wasn't going on. Good for Xander getting out when he did.
They are all quite wonderful. Thanks for posting.

Thanks very much for your really nice comment.
I find Faith heartbreaking, although I think that it wasn't particularly brilliantly handled on the show. If a radical rewrite of Season 7 were possible, then some of Faith's past (even the past she had in Sunnydale) should have been discussed in a bit more depth.

Yeah, the Mayor's brisk and efficient "drink your milk" kindness does seem to be the only thing Faith can tolerate until her meltdown on Angel.

I like your icon a lot! I am too artistically deficient and incompetent to make such things, although I feel I should learn...
