Headcanon

This is where all headcanon information will be placed (Obviously!).
  • Time Period. He comes from the year 1610. His time is during the Golden Age of the Spanish Empire, particularly during the Pax Hispanica, where Spain is in peace with England and France and focusing more on its own affairs (getting back control of the Dutch provinces and resolving the issue of bankruptcy). At this time, the Iberian Union is in full swing, thus he and his brother, Portugal, are living in one house after so long. In my interpretation, this isn't a marriage, just Spain happily taking his brother back and forming a family again.
  • Imperialist Bastard, but More. He's a bit different from other Spanish Empire muses that are around. For some reason, when I think "Spanish Empire", what I get is a proud, arrogant, imperialistic asshole, but still tempered by Spain's canon cheerfulness and warmth. He knows he has power and he uses it with hardly any reservation. He likes being an Empire and will do anything to keep his power. He has no qualms about doing what it takes to keep that power, even going against the Catholic church at times, which he has done in the past.
  • Empire and Sinner. Interestingly, he's not a Catholic zealot. In fact, he is aware of the sins the Empire has committed and is in no way disillusioned about the pureness of his soul. It doesn't seem to bother him overly much. His biggest sins are of course pride and greed.
  • That Island. He has... an interesting relationship with England. He hates him and yet is also fond of him in his own twisted, masochistic way. He dotes on him and believes he loves him (despite how England tries to kill him ever so often, despite the truce). He wants England to be his and yet he also knows that the young Empire won't just give in to him so easily.
  • That Brat. He is very fond of Romano, but he also grows weary of taking care of him since Romano is so disrespectful and unreliable. This is one reason why he spends so much time away from home...
