Talk about a long time since posting! Oh well. I've been really busy.

Last weekend I had class at GV, then went to SL. I hit up Erika's candle party, and we celebrated Stevie's 18th birthday. She got a car...a Taurus! (This will be the 3rd my mom has officially owned.) It's blue. And the lisence plate? I won't type the whole thing but the numbers at the end are 6969!!! After the birthday dinner, Beau and I went out with Steph, Craig, and Erika to B-dub's for awhile, and then bowling. It was a lot of fun to hang out with people!!

Then this weekend, I was back in GR for the science teacher convention at the Amway Grand. The rooms there are so nice! Thursday night we went out to San Chez for dinner and had tapas and lots of sangria, then went back to the rooms and had more wine. (there was a crowd of 8 of us or so) We did the whole learning thing during the day on Friday, Firday night we helped host a forensic science-based murder-mystery dinner event, which was cool. Our boss let us drink wine while working! I became an 'expert' in blood typing, and cannot imagine how many teachers I may have screwed up with my pseudo knowledge of FS. :) After that, there were some brief drunken moments of chaos with our dead body...it involved leaning 'Trisha' up against the elevator door and videotaping 'her' fall to the floor as the door opened. This body is really lifelike too, we got some looks! There may have also been some dolly-racing in the parking garage. What next? Well, we went up to the atrium of Amway for dinner at Cygnus!! We pretended to be very classy and ate fancy food such as lobster carbonara. The view from this restaurant is amazing! It's all glass and you can see for miles across GR. It was dark so the lights were all sparkly and pretty. And guess what, the day's not over yet!! After that, we went out to Flannagan's Irish Pub in GR. We get there and there is a $2 cover at the door...OH except that one of the bouncers was a former student from one of us, and got us all in free!!! HA! We even called someone else to come and told them to "Tell the bouncer you know Mrs. Hertel"..and it worked! We felt famous. After several beers (green!) and a countdown to St. Patrick's day there was much dancing and drinking and we definately closed the bar (I got up at 7 that morning and the next, BTW). Saturday was less eventful, mostly from being tired and hungry, but we still managed to cause a little trouble before leaving, and may have walked away with a fetal pig in a bag. Not lying. Back at home, Beau and Aubrey were playing with motorcycles, and then The Dave came over too. They bought a dart board for the basement and we played and had a good time. Today I must recover and write a paper for GV...that's not going to go so well. But hey, I'll do my best. The boys are going to grill out burgers because it's so pretty out, the race will be on, and I have to work tomorrow. But damn, it was a good couple of days.

Just think...this was a teacher conference. What did our teachers used to do?!?
