As I sit before my computer the depth of other people's stupidity hits me once again. That's right, I just am having one of those lovely moments where my brain hurts like hell. I was trying to be an informed individual by raiding CNN.com. I read an article by Al Sharpton, I'll hold my opinion on him, but it was an all right enough article... and then they have a place where people can make comments.
Why oh why do they let people interject their opinions?
One person went off about how nobody in the mainstream holds any of Al Sharpton's views and that's why he needs a conference about it...
Because NOBODY in the mainstream ever holds conventions. You never hear of a Democrat convention or a Republican convention or... oh wait...
Someone else went off about "abortion genocide." Hmmmm... "abortion genocide"... as in the genocide of abortions?
Definition of genocide via m-w.com:
Pronunciation: 'je-n&-"sId
Function: noun
: the deliberate and systematic destruction of a racial, political, or cultural group
You know, I just don't think "genocide" is the proper word.
Next, I'm so sick of seeing people using "African American" as a damn word for "black." Not every black American is "African." What if there is a white American from South Africa? The umbrella term "African American" for black is stupid. It's as dumb as assuming every white person is really a "European American."
Bloody fucking hell.
ARGH!
