whats new???
i havent posted an actual update in ages, so lets see here... i interviewed on tuesday for substitute teaching at gateway. i start subbing next thursday! should be pretty cool i guess. i should know kids in practically every class in the district, should be tough getting them to call me miss robertson.
on wednesday i went to the doctor to get a physical and a tb test that i need for teaching. it was the first time i went to the doctor by myself, other than westminster health center, of course. i know, im ridiculous. anyway, as most of you know, i have a major fear of needles. like, ive never gotten a shot without someone holding my hand. but then in december i went through that surgery and had my first IV and all, so i thought maybe i was over my fear...
so when the doctor decided that maybe he should take some blood to check my thyroid, i let him! i voluntarily let him take my blood, with a needle, by myself, with no one holding my hand! i was so proud of myself! i think im ready for fear factor now, cause i think i proved that "fear is not a factor for me!" hehe, it didnt hurt that my doctor is gorgeous..... ;-) he went to westminny too, so i feel a bit of a bond.
in other news, every wednesday night erin and i have been going to this restaurant around here for dinner and "team trivia!" its sooooooo much fun, and we're determined to be like the regulars on cheers, "where everybody knows your name" it seems to be working... we're buddy buddy with the owner- uncle ryan, the dj- lee, and our favorite waitress- jen! we rather suck at the actual trivia part, but we're determined to get better! the first 3 teams get prizes, and erin and i have placed 4th out of 4 and 5th out of 5! this week we actually moved into 3rd!!! we got a prize!!! a $10 gift certificate for next week, haha! go us! first place gets their whole bill payed, which is pretty cool if you have lots of people and eat lots, but for us, it totals about 15 bucka, haha!
