The Big D (AKA Rocksteady)

It's hard to believe it's November already...time is quickly moving on. Firstly apologies for lack of activity on the web-site, we hope to have this problem rectified in the next week or so. As always the Beat Poets Machine is working as hard as always.

Since my last update we have played several shows. The first was in the Sugar Club Dublin supporting 'Play'. Although we were 2nd on the bill we opted to open up. The Sugar Club is more adapted to industry showcases than gigs I feel. It's a completely seated so a rock band such as ourselves can seem lost to such as venue. The same can't be said for RADAR in the Queen's University students union.

This was one of best gigs. The place was fuckin stuffed!! And as always we aimed to please. A few industry heads were over with us and by 4am we we're all in a rockin state. Also we had to delay the start of the gig by 30 mins as Alan McGhee (Creation Records), Colin Murray (Radio 1) and James Walsh (Starsailor) were coming to see the band. Infact James must have had the best ear plugs in as he sat right next to the P.A!

The last week though as seen me more aware of the legalities of the industry but i'll not bore anyone! However we have signed a global advertisement deal with O'Neill extreme sports for use on ads over their winter period.

Tommorrow we support 'The Walls' in UCD students union, I'm looking forward to this and meeting a few fans from London flying over. There are alot of things happening for us in London at the minute! On that note we have plan all being we'll to be in London from the 8th - 10th December 2005 and the 6th - 10th Jan 2006. Provisional dates have now been set up so we hope to have some confirmation on these before the end of next week.

On Friday we will headline at the Imagine Arts Festival in Waterford, the venue is called the Bank for anyone around there.

Also we are confirmed to play the SONI best of North Ireland music showcases on Saturday 12th Nov in the Duke of York, Belfast and then The Empire on November 23rd as part of the Belfest 2005 music festival showcases. Marty said the SONI compilation CD we're on looks super!

Recording of 2 new promo singles starts on the 8th of November (sorry about the delay) and will be out no later than the 20th!!

Also everyone check out Graham's new site: www.grahamsmithphotography.com There's a smashing poets section!!!

See ya all next week!
