jeudi le 15 juin 2006 -- La vie boheme
Je me suis reveillée a 7h15
Le petit dejeuner: Croissant, chocolat chaud
Le Matin: Sacre Coeur/Montmartre. Very boheme, cobblestone streets, portrait artists, steps like woah. Sacre Coeur was having service, so I couldn't get pics of the inside, but they had little shrines for different saints. Down the steps from there were the creepy yarn guys! In Montmartre, my mad french skills got me a 5 euro discount on a shirt because the clerk made a mistake. Score!
Le Dejuner: Crepe Nutella. Pas des bananes, pas de chantilly. I really love nutella.
L'apres midi: Musee D'Orsee- Monet and Van Gogh were my favorites, but we didn't have time to look at much else. Unless you were madame Fedor, who made time- and made us all late, again.
Le diner: Assiete des crudites- celery root is really good. Steak Bearnease- the sauce was good, but the cut of meat wasn't great at all. Sorbet- did the yellow one actually have rum in it? Who can tell with us...
Le Soir: Tour Eiffel- Camera Bats low again, grr. Alex Bling-Bling sold us souvenirs, Madame Stewart chased off 4 french boys.
L'Hotel: Wrote Postcards, packed.
Je me suis couchée a 1h00.
vendredi le 16 juin 2006 -- Chateau day
je me suis reveillée a 6h50.
Le petit dejeuner: la meme
Le matin: Packing, bus to chambord. This place was amazing- my favorite castle of the 3. The roof(s) and the style were byzantine kind of, just completely perfect. We had 2 hours to explore, which was excellent, as was posing with the paintings and statues.
Le Dejeuner: Sandwich Jambon- A baguette spread with butter and really thin ham. Gini- carbonated lemonade.
L'apres-midi: Chenonceau- more crowded and less interesting than Chambord, also smaller. Gift Shop less fun, and the bridge where gabby took tha awesome picture was closed. Still worthwhile... Bus to Menaudiere, our room, once again, is the absolute best in the hotel.
Le diner: 5 course dinner. Cold cucumber soup (Hardly anyone touched theirs- understandably), Eggplant/fish salad (Really off the wall, but not bad), Steak with sauteed peppers and onions, asparagus mousse, and fried potatos (Better than the night before, but why don't they have steak knives?), Camembert Cheese (It sounds good. It just smells and tastes horrible), and a chocolate and raspberry tarte (I hope nothing more needs to be said about that.) The waitstaff was laughing because no one touched the cheese, but every trace of chocolate was completely eliminated.
Le soir: Emily breaking things, then the things actually breaking themselves more. Physics, doncha know.
L'hotel: Hung out with Jess, Em, Megan, Danielle, Georgina, watched VH1. Back in the room, gossiped with Em. Bandaids on our door.

Much nicer buffet at chateau.
3hr bus to Asterix, stopped at convenience store. found gifts for Sean, 3 pack Kinder Bueno, which are chocolate and wafer with hazelnut creme filling. Nice. Was afflicted, Jess saved me. 3 days later, I think everyone had theirs, too.
Sundae au 4 fruits rouge@ PA, candy from truck stop. We couldn't get pizza, and we believe the problem was our accents.
Parc Asterix- Best roller Coaster EVAR= Tonnere de Zeus. Chatted with 13 year old French boys, gave them candy, rode roller coasters with them. Jess confiscated my watch.
Dinner at hotel- worst service ever. There was a wedding, too, but seriously, they ignored us and our dirty dishes for 3 hours. That's why we didn't feel horrible about playing the crystal glasses, making faces out of chicken bones, and throwing fruit salad across the table. But we had prosciutto and melon, chicken with noodles, and of course, fruit salad.
Hung out in hotel rooms, worked on journals. Not feeling great.

A buffet with croissants, quel grand surprise!
Rode TGV high speed train to Geneva. Very smooth ride. I snoozed and read Purgatory- Finally through introduction.
Panini Tomate Mozza, Orangina, tarte au cerises- completely awesome.
Bus to Anessy- great chateau-cum-museum. Contemporary art exhibit, history museum, Then visited old town- "Vielle Ville." Looked at ducks/swans, huge lake with mountains in the background- real mountains, with snow on them. Got ice cream (Pear!) and went back to hotel.
Best dinner yet! Mushroom pastry, salmon with dill, spinace, rice, carrots. Dessert- Vanilla and raspberry icecreams with meringue.
Hung out in hotel.
JMSCa 11h45.
Sorry this is going so sporadically. It took 10 days to get all these entries, and every day was so busy, I'm just floored that I've had this experience!
