I find it very annoying that in such a democratic country as Britain the public transport doesn't work on Xmas day. In a democratic country there are supposed to be some people who do not celebrate Xmas, or celebrate it another day (the Russian orthodox for example). The government forces people to use taxis which are double-rated on 25th. Find it very strange from the social point of view - no hope for people whose earnings are below the certain level. What if they urgently need to travel?
