So I found a lot of expansion and stuff packs at half price books the other day, and decided to splurge, as I'd recently realized that my laptop can run more that just the base game and university.
Yesterday, I installed everything, and my game started crashing whenever I had sims try to change their appearance. I had checked everything and it had worked until I installed kitchen and bath stuff and celebration stuff. Then the problems started, and I had to uninstall everything but the base game and university to fix it. I now have everything but celebration stuff reinstalled, and things are working, so I'm just not going to push it. But after all that work, the bandanna hair with kitchen and bath that I wanted Ripp to wear briefly isn't even available for teens. Boo-urns.
But the sad part is, this took a lot of time, and now I'm behind on chapter 3. Maybe I can use this to start writing ahead rather than having a vague plan of where I'm going and fleshing it out as I go. I have a feeling I'm just going to write myself into a corner that way. How do you guys do it? Are things written ahead? Do pictures drive the story? Do you decide on a whim what would be the most terrible thing to have happen and then do it?
