I went fishing up a creek today with my old long lost friend who reappeared yesterday, skipping out of work.
There are salmon running, chinook (kings) to 35 pounds, and coho (silvers) a more fiesty fish, running up to 15 pounds.
Its been a long time since I fished for salmon in a river, and a moritorium on coho combined with a reduction of commercial fishing, and an active hatchery has produced the first good run in 20 years.
It took ALL day to find the fish, and in the last hour, I had at least 15 fish on.
I BLEW EVERY ONE.
I had three 20 pound fish on. I lost every one. EVERY ONE.
