Life has been pretty blah lately, but today I think I have a second wind. I am up at a reasonable hour. I have plans to be productive today.
After I finish All In the Family and make some breakfast I have to clean. My room is a mess, and I never let it get this bad. I also need to clean my car really good today.
I hope to start writing again or something. I am thinking about minoring in journalism. I don't want to make it a career or anything, but I know a few nonprofit magazines I would LOVE to write for someday. I'm mostly talking about Razorcake. I wouldn't mind starting my own zine someday, either.
So, last night Chris and I more or less made a ridiculous, yet hopeful, plan to own our own business someday. For those of you that don't know I am going to school to me a literature professor. Once I get all my student loans paid off and get on my feet I would love to open a bookstore. It would be relatively easy to manage the store and teach. Literature is probably the most important thing in my life. A close second is music, which is why I would love to put a small venue in my store for local concerts and such. This would make me ridiculously happy. Hopefully someday it will happen.
This weekend Chris and I are going to Baltimore for Insubordination Fest. I'm pretty stoked. It should be a really nice mini vacation. I am super duper mega excited to see Lemuria and The Unlovables.
My oldest cat, Hootie, is really sick. The doctor put her on two medicines, and they seem to be helping a little. She's still losing weight, though. She eats all the time, so I don't know how. She turned 16 in April, so I know if she doesn't get better soon she's going to have to be put down. It's really sad because I can't remember life without her. I've had her since I was two years old.
I am making plans/arrangements to move to New Hampshire this December or January. I've started buying things for the apartment such as: dishes, silverware, appliances, decorations, etc. I have all the furniture I need. Getting up there with it is going to be the tricky part. I'm taking Molly and Wednesday, so I think it is going to be pretty interesting to drive 15+ hours with two cats. Oi. My mommy is taking one of those extra large storage bins and making me a "care package" out of it. She said she's going to put nonperishable items in there that I always keep in the house so I don't have to buy them once I get there. I know she talked about putting cleaning products, some of my favorite tea bags, shampoo, Febreeze, etc. in it. I think it's cute. She's thoughtful like that.
I've been listening to a lot of new music lately. I even found a bluegrass tribute to Blink 182 the other day. They're called Grass Stains. I really like them, actually. I thought they would be horrible, but they make it work somehow. I've been listening to a lot of Tegan and Sara, Dillinger Four, Lemuria, and Andrew Jackson Jihad lately. I've also been downloading a lot of songs from the 90s lately. One of my personal favorites is Steal My Sunshine by Len. I loved that song when I was younger. It's like going back in time.
I took a break from reading for a while, but I'm starting to read again. Currently I am reading Slaughter House Five. In the last few weeks I've bought: Killing Yourself to Live, The Cider House Rules, Go Ask Alice, and Wolf At the Dinner Table They all see good.
I just got really tired all the sudden. I think I am going to take a nap since I've been up since midnight. I have to get up later and see Erica. She got new stuff for the wedding, and I want to see it.
P.S I am totally addicted to tomato basil wheat thins
