Lots of random things I've been up to. Later this week I am going to see the Watchmen in IMAX. I'm excited! I've never seen a non-educational IMAX movie before. :)
Last night I got to go to another Senses Fail concert (My favorite band)! We had to go to Lancaster, PA to see them last time... This time we just had to go into Baltimore. It was a great show though,
Haste the Day,
Senses Fail, and
Hollywood Undead.
Hollywood Undead.. Think Beastie Boys with lots of drinking and sexual lyrics so fifteen year old boys will idol them. In my opinion, they shouldn't have been headlining, especially when their openers were hardcore and screamo, and the hardcore is a Christian band.
Highlights included:
- Bouncer let a huge group RIGHT behind me in line go in ahead of me. A girl stopped for a second and he said "shut up and keep moving." to her to get the line going and her boyfriend said "hey shut your mouth!" at her (agreeing with the bouncer) and he flipped out, grabbed the kid and threw him into the wall then pushed him all the way outside and threw him on the concrete. Was glorious.
-For Senses Fail I was on the floor to get close to them. I got kicked on the head by a kid that was thrown on top of me. Then I got punched in the spine later. I left the floor after Senses Fail got off.
-Moved to the top for Hollywood Undead, after the show in the mosh pit right below me, a guy had gotten pushed on top of a girl and neither could get up. They got helped up and the girl screams at him then punches him as hard as she can in the face and he falls over. Glorious~
-Criss Angels' father was there. (Not literally.)
-Giant cougar with stomach to knees (In cougar clothing) going down the line screaming "We need tickets!!!!" with cigarette in mouth. Trailing behind her were a pack of kids all as yuckbucket as she was. With cigarettes in hand. BTW, none of them looked like they were out of middle school.
Also, because of my minimal income I've been very domestic lately. My friends tease me, I do a lot of things I would not have done 4 months ago. Anyway, some things I've done!
I got a new dress on eBay, even though it isn't summer yet it was only $10. Problem is that it is handmade, and it's sized properly but doesn't fit around my diaphragm area. So I got sewing supplies and I am working on making it lace up in the back instead of zip. :]
Also learned about a new facial mask, which is working great, so I recommend trying it!
Take 3 Aspirin (Uncoated) and place in a dish. Pour 1 TSP of warm water, let sit, crush with finger. Pour some honey in. Apply to face. Let sit for 15 minutes. You'll feel it start to tingle and tighten. Remove mask in circular motion to exfoliate during removal. Your face will feel cleaner, smoother, and clearer. Only do it once a week though or you will gain an immunity to the aspirin on your skin.
The reason aspirin works is because it has the same chemicals as what is contained in high priced acne medications. I don't have acne (Only one in my family not to) but I do have
keratosis pilaris and it broke out a little on my chin and lower cheeks this week. Which is why I tried this out. I'm going to be doing it weekly now, it worked great!
I also found a hair mask I will try soon since I dyed my hair a really dark color a week ago. I want it to be shinier and healthier looking. Take a half an avocado and mash it with a fork, mix in an egg yolk and a TBSP of olive oil. Mash till creamy. Place in hair in sections, like you are conditioning your hair. Let sit for 30 minutes or more if you have the time. Wash out in cold water. Let air dry.
LASTLY, I found a method of doing french tips yourself. Buff out your nails (I got a buffer for Christmas, I assume you can get them at any beauty store or I'll bet even Wal-mart. Mine is from Avon.) Then cut 6 band-aids (non fabric) in half. Place the rounded parts below the tips then paint in an up and downward motion the part unexposed to the band-aid. Let dry completely, slowly peel off starting at a side. Paint the part that was covered (NOT the tips) with a clear coat. Let dry. Paint entire nail in clear coat. Then you are done. I have a picture!
