Chocolate Fudge Brownies

Preparation time: 15 minutes
Total cooking time: 12 minutes
Makes 30

3/4 plain flour
1/2 self-raising flour
1 cup (130 g) chopped walnuts
1/2 cup choc bits
125 g unsalted butter, chopped
200 g dark chocolate, chopped
2 tablespoons golden syrup
2 eggs, lightly beaten

Line a biscuit tray with baking paper.
1 Sift plain and self-raising flours into a large mixing bowl; add walnuts and choc bits. Make a well in the centre.

2 Combine pieces of butter and chocolate in small pan. Stir over low heat for 5 minutes or until chocolate has melted and the mixture is smooth. Remove pan from heat and allow to cool so it won't cook the egg. Add syrup and beaten eggs, mix well.

3 Pour chocolate mixture into large mixing bowl with the dry ingredients. Now the recipe requires you to refrigerate the mixture for an hour, but I find it unnecessary. The mixture should NOT be runny, but should have a sticky consistency.

4 Heat oven to moderate 180 degrees. Roll 1 level tablespoon of mixture at a time into a ball (wetting hands will stop mixture from sticking to your hands). Arrange balls on the prepared tray; bake for 12 minutes.

Hot Fudge Sauce
1/2 cup sofetened butter
1 1/2 cups of icing sugar
2/3 cups evaporated milk
1/2 cup of chocolate melts

1 Turn the stove on to a low-medium heat. In a pan melt butter and chocolate; then add icing sugar. Mix well and then add evaporated milk and the chocolate melts.
2 Stir mixture until all the chocolate has melted. Allow to cook for 20-25 minutes.
3 Remove from heat and with your mixing spoon, beat the mixture well. Drizzle onto you brownies while it's nice and warm.
