robbed lately?
we were robbed last night - fucking hilarious, well only kinda - i keep thinking about what if i was in the office ....
so last night - tuesday, senior discount day, its busy as usual - im downstairs helping out / covering lunches and breaks - ben, one of our stockers notices this couple who are looking super suspicious upstairs in the vitaloft - he goes to tell one of our meat guys, who is too busy to even spell his own name - he tells ben to go find another guy - by the time that happens, everything is said and done - and we dont find out about anything until after we close the store
i always count the safe before leaving the store - and the second i opened it, i noticed a LOT of cash missing - instantly i freak out because i know... im the ONLY one with the combo that had been working that night - i ask around - nobody knows anything - so naturally, i start to freak out - i phone the store manager to let him know we're short x amount of dollars
i dont hear back from him for a while so in the mean time .. im upstairs freaking out - and jake over hears me talking about the safe being short - then he brings up how ben had mentioned to him about the suspicious couple up in vitaloft - i start checking out the cameras and BOOM.
couple walks up stairs - the lady starts getting into our makeup while her boy scopes out the entire store - then she motions him to go - he walks straight through the back doors - and straight to the office - he's gone for not even a minute - and out the front door they go
i phoned the police - and a few moments later, i was giving a statement - fucking scary!
apparently a lot of the small shops on our street are getting hit - mostly in the marina though
im super freaked out because even though nobody was hurt - im still thinking about .. what if i was upstairs in the office working on the excel spreadsheet i had been doing just minutes before being called downstairs - what if i was sitting there - and this dude pops in - and sees me - what would have happened then - would he had pulled out a gun, and asked me to give him all of our money - would he have shot me after i had given him some money - would he had been surprised to see me there, and play it off by "oh sorry, do you have a restroom" .. or what...
ugh - i didn't get very much sleep last night - i was completely exhausted at my intern site all day today - im ready to PASS out now and its barely 6:30pm
i hate robbers
they're so fucking lame - but i kinda understand why they do what they do - i mean, you're talking to someone who understands why dahmer ate people - so i get why robbers do what they do - it just sucks - as long as they dont hurt other people in the process, i say... rob-your-hearts-out - just dont hurt people along the way - you know?
