Wow, what an insanely busy and awesome week!
In a nutshell, I:
Got into our Advanced RVT (Registered Vet Tech) Program
Despite still being Pre-Vet, I want to enhance my animal care knowledge/skills as much as possible, so I'm trying to take as many Animal Science classes as I can. *nods*
WAS ELECTED PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMISSIONER OF OUR PRE-VET CLUB!!
I'm really excited about this because this is the first time I've ever run for elected office and I was totally shocked that I won! (Considering the fact that I had some pretty good competition, and also, those who were nominated had to give a speech about why they were running and heyyyy I hate public speaking! Surprised that apparently I was able to speak well enough to get elected, haha). This club is pretty much my life (yes, I'm a geek and I'll acknowledge it) and I've got some really great plans for our club in the fall! Also, all of my absolute best friends were elected for other officer positions (namely President, Vice President, and Secretary), so I know I've got a great team I'll be working with :)
Got an A on:
-My Animal Anat&Physio lecture midterm
-My Animal Anat&Physio lab final
-AN A+ (600/600 points) IN MY LAB SECTION!! (I would have ended with 580something points, but I had a bit of extra credit that bumped me up.. which, much to my surprise, pushed me to getting the highest grade in our class of 100something students! I friggin' love anatomy!)
As a result of the above, the professor asked if I would be the T.A. for said Animal Anatomy&Physio class next semester, so I'm really excited to take on that endeavor! :) (Along with that, I'll be working in our brand new large animal cadaver lab, as well learning how to use an ultrasound.. sooo awesome!)
Lots of good news all around!
So this isn't just a post with WALLS OF TEXT, have a picture of DiNGO at Farm Walk 2010; this event was put on by our Animal Science department (where we showcase our farm) and that day DiNGO was "Doctor DiNGO"-- the canine veterinarian who cares for all of the animals on our farm. ;)
(WHO LET THEIR CHILD NEAR THAT DINGO, DON'T THEY KNOW HE'S GOING TO EAT IT!?!? Hehe..)
