hottest 100 and hemmo

Have just submitted my Hottest 100 votes with a few hours to spare! I'll post the extended playlist download in the next day or so, because it broke my heart to cut so many songs, but here's what made the top ten:

Boy & Bear - Fall At Your Feet. Amazing cover on what is an amazing cover album. He Will Have His Way is probably my most played album at the moment. So much love.
Darren Hanlon - All These Things. Darren Hanlon is the musical equivalent of hugging a much-loved teddy bear. Makes me all comforted and warm and so very fond, as well as amused.
Ball Park Music - Sad Rude Future Dude. It was a tough choice between this and their other song, iFly (which I cannot get out of my head), but this won because it could very well be my musical biography, sadly.
Gypsy & The Cat - Piper's Song. Again tough to choose one track from a great album, so I chose this because of it's hummable chorus.
Gyroscope - Baby, I'm Getting Better. On my Gwaine playlist, and unbelievably catchy.
Kate Nash - Do-Wah-Doo. Another one of those audiobiographical inclusions. And I dare anyone not to bop and sing along. I'll just read a book instead!
Little Red - Rock It. I think this song might do okay. It makes me happy.
Sally Seltmann - On The Borderline. Okay, so last year was full of suck and there were quite a few days where this song was pretty much the only thing that got me out of bed. If you need a little pick-me-up of audio sunshine, I highly recommend Sally Seltmann.
Two Door Cinema Club - Come Back Home. It took me an embarrassingly long time to find the name of this band. I kept bopping along to various songs on the radio and going, "Who ARE these guys?" Heh. Thank you, google lyric searches.
Washington - Sunday Best. The hardest part (hee!) of the vote this year was singling out a Washington song. It was a coin flip between this and The Hardest Part. I Believe You Liar was my favourite album of the year and I encourage everyone to check Washington out if you haven't already - she's awesome!

Almost all Australian again this year!

In Hemmo news, the pics from Liam's 21st birthday made me smile because of this one:

Surprise background Furze! Good to see Hemmo still hangs with his old roommate.

Also, looking forward to seeing my boy present at the Golden Globes tomorrow. Even if there'll be not free to air broadcast here, so I will have to find other means. I think he's presenting Supporting Actress in TV with Chris Evans. Thor and Captain America together! Here's hoping we get some awkward superhero-related banter. Like the Logies but bigger!
