Okay, so this is my current desktop. You have no idea how much I'm loving this new widescreen monitor that is actually bigger than my TV.
CONNER! AND KRYPTO! IN SMALLVILLE! This may very well be my most favourite image in the history of comic books ever, and I stare at it and smile sappily on a daily basis.
And if you can read that after shrinking, I'm not looking at something Merlin-related as the firefox label would suggest, but a
quick interview with Francis Manapul, who happens to be the artist of said desktop. It includes this:
5) What hero or villain would you like to change if you could and why?
hmm.. this is gonna sound totally self serving..but I'd have to say Superboy. Not so much changing the character but more exploring him and bringing him to a wider audience. Geoff believes that Superboy is right up there as one of the greater characters at DC and I'm totally with him. Hopefully after it's all said and done we'll have accomplished something that would bring a wider spotlight on the character. Because it's just too cool to not be in said spotlight. That we'd like to try and change.
*nodnodnod* I think my baby's in good hands.
Also, why yes, that IS Adobe Premiere Elements I have open there. I know a couple of you have been gently persuading me away from the evil that is WMM but eek! Looks like some learning curve, and I'm wondering if there's better software out there before I take up too much time with tutorials and whatnot.
Still catching up on my Smallville viewing and, finally, that word doc shortcut in the middle of the screen is something that I'm not really sure will ever be let out for public consumption, but it's a Merlin AU that got away from me. It's inspired by a FANTASTIC film, Fido, which takes everything you know and love from the genre of dog movies, but replaces the dog with a ZOMBIE. Highly recommended. In my AU, the dog/zombie role is filled by a warlock and it's basically the story of a boy and his warlock. I've stalled somewhere around the point where said boy realises he wants to FUCK said warlock because, DUDE. I don't think even MY brain can pull off something so twisted.
Anyway, here's the opening line, just because:
“Arthur and Morgana, I love you both so much, and you have earned the new warlock that's coming with us to Camelot.”
Milk bones to anyone who gets the reference! The initial idea was so hilariously cracky and fun to play with but, yeah. Right now, the thing I love most is the title. It was initially Merlin and Me after I'd fallen for movie!Marley (and Merlin is SO a Marley) but now it's Old Speller. C'mon, that's freakin' AWESOME, admit it. Heh.
