I...I don't know if I can do tomorrow. I was singing my potential cathartic "FUCK YOU, JOHN PAUL McQUEEN" vid song in my head while walking home in the rain tonight and kinda broke down. How horribly cliche and lame. *g*
But! Before tomorrow:

Oh, Kieron. Those sad eyes bring out my protective instincts like being just out of reach of a lost puppy. How can anyone watch that first scene, with the happy video and folorn Kieron, and NOT feel their heart break?
I so want to team up with Michaela and Myra and deprive John Paul of cooked breakfasts until he sees sense. At least they know the right potential inlaw when it counts. When Myra told JP to grow up, I cheered. Not that I think growing up necesssarily means MARRYING Kieron (not right away, anyway), but it at least means talking things over. So I'm somewhat placated that JP has been trying to do just that instead of running to Craig as the easier option.
And I want to hate Niall for what's to come, but now we learn that as a kid he once walked 17 miles to save an injured cat and...damnit, Niall. Why didn't you stay with the nice cat lady and just leave my boys alone?
In other fannish news: Tried to watch The Strip tonight. Gave up after ten minutes. It's AWFUL. Particularly the female lead. Drew was nice, though. But earlier in the week, we had a much better cop/crime/whatever premiere in
Rush.
I think I'm going to like this show - much better acting and production and, dude, that spiderman opening sequence was AWESOME - great action and stuff but also a good introduction to the dynamics of the team. I think it's only let down somewhat by Catherine McClements who always seems to stagger around scenes like an old drunk and it's offputting. Unless she's SUPPOSED to be an old drunk, in which case, well done!
I was already predisposed to love Rodger Corser, Callan Mulvey, Samuel Johnson and Nicole Da Silva (best thing about Dangerous) and they didn't disappoint, but I also really liked Claire van der Boom and the kid who always has to stay with the car. The characters actually interest and engage me, which is rare this genre. Definitely one to keep on the schedule for next week.
Packed to the Rafters.
Am watching, but am not smitten yet. Obviously, I enjoy Ben and Carbo the best - any maybe want to see the slash potential - but the rest is all a little meh. Maybe it's because I can't stand Erik Thomson. Don't know what it is, but something about that guy is like nails on a blackboard for me. It's one of the reasons I never really got into All Saints. But I'll give it a few more eps just in case.
Project Runway Australia.
Go Leigh! Or Juli. Or Petrova. No, Leigh! Leigh is definitely my fave. I love his snarkiness. Can't wait until the final this week! This is a show I really didn't expect to love so much...and I never expected to utter words like "Leigh's wedding gown was STUNNING," in everyday office conversation, but there you go. It's definitely a favourite watercooler topic around here.
Australian Idol.
Am so glad Wes got through. Hopefully Sophie will make it to the wildcard now - she has a good chance because she's GOOD and also because there aren't many girls in the top 12 yet and they'll be looking to even that out. I just want both my Idol kids in there.
I'd also like second chances for:
Nicole Banks - because she's just adorable.
Brooke Wilkie - because I like her voice (or, I think I would, if she hadn't lost it for her performance) and could see her making quirky choices like Brianna did last year.
Matthew Parsons - because I like his eyes when he smiles. Heh. Oh, and he has a nice musical style, too!
and Jonny Taylor - because I'm sure he's not going to get through after tonight and the dude needs to belt out some Pearl Jam or something that would suit his awesome rock voice.
For the record, I'm yet to warm to Tom Williams, no matter how cute he may be. That kid is way too Hillsong for me. As is Irae Schwenke (was he wearing ROSARY BEADS tonight? - way to remind me of Kieron when I was trying to escape for an hour, asshole *g*). And Luke Dickens looks like an outback serial killer and I can't get past that (also, the guy can't sing and was only thrown in as a token point of difference). I can see Madam Parker (SO through tonight) getting on my nerves in the future also.
Heh. Opinionated Idol chatter. It's that time of year again, folks!
