...over at IESB What. The. Fuck?
Seriously. WHAT IS GOING ON? Make a freakin' Teen Titans movie with those kids and I'd be more than happy. Half of them are actors I already know and like. (And everyone should see Teresa Palmer in 2:37, btw). Just save JUSTICE LEAGUE for SuperMAN and BatMAN and Wonder WOMAN etc. I know the actors mentioned aren't teenagers, but I totally wasn't expecting Justice League: The College Years, either!
ETA: Best. Comment. Ever. seen over at IMDB of all places - I wonder if the Watchtower will feature on 'Cribs' Ahahahahahahaha!
ETA 2: Okay, I can kinda understand the reasoning from DC's Gregory Noveck over on voicesfromkrypton.com regarding having a third Superman. Superman does have key characteristics which you can NEVER mess with but I guess as a fan, my own personal Superman is pretty much a combination of every version I've seen/read/heard and I'm always open to another. Using Brandon or Tom *would* be problematic (c'mon, if we went 2 hours without Tom's Clark bailing on his new superfriends to go save Lana, it just wouldn't seem right *g*). *Ideally*, I'm sure we'd all have loved to have Routh and Bale up there, and have the entire universe tied together into a neat little package with a bow of awesomeness but, yeah, us superhero fangirls are just too darn idealistic for our own good sometimes. *g*
It's the young'uns I don't quite get. Sure, they're in their late 20s or whatever, but they don't *look* or *seem* it. From all accounts, we're not getting an origin story here so these heroes are supposed to come out of the gates battle-ready and kicking ass. It's not just about looking like you're 20-something, but about looking like you've SAVED THE WORLD fifty times over and dusting yourself off for time fifty-one. That random pretty actor from that teen drama/kids' movie just doesn't seem right.
Even if the casting seems weird, I'm not going to be the fan who refuses to give it a chance. I love these characters. As long as Superman isn't raping kittens and eating puppies for breakfast, I'm there, no matter who plays him.
Oh, WB. I get that they'll be cheap. And that you'll keep them pretty for longer so sequels can be made. And maybe your target audience of popcorn moviegoers isn't going to care about what you do to the characters - they'll probably even enjoy the younger versions who are pretty and make things go boom and crack us up with witty one-liners. Go right ahead.
At least the action figures will be cute.
