wow, that's really something, lex

Very important deliveries were waiting for me yesterday afternoon - the giant Superman collector's tin (OMG it's so shiny and pretty and I shall be stuck in front of the television *forever*), a nice letter from QTAC saying I'd been accepted into my first choice of University next year, and a big fat acceptance package from the Uni with aproximately 5,000 hours of paperwork to complete.

So I watched Superman Returns and figure I'll get around to the uni stuff tonight. Heh.

I also need to catch up on TV, but I did manage to watch Dexter this morning. Nooooooooo! Deb! I love, love, love how they've built the story to this moment. Love! Made me care for all the characters, find perverse joy in any Rudy/Dexter interaction, and just when I was all comfortable and squeeing over the *fun* of Rudy's playfulness with Dex (seriously, BEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER!), they step everything up a notch too far and I'm suddenly NOT comfortable anymore.

I want to read the books so bad, but I don't want to ruin the show, so I shall have to wait.

Smallville: Subterranean. Ha! I kinda love it when I enjoy eps nobody else does. I think I have a very special Selective Smallville Memory that enables me to continue watching. Like, for example, this ep left me with that STUNNING image of Lex strutting through 33.1, just out of reach of the grabby hands of his mutant collection, and images of Clark being cute and charming with the kid. That's all. That's all I need to take away from that - everything else DOESN'T MATTER.

I was thinking that I always seem to love Clark with kids - it brings out the best (and shall we say, "super") in the boy. But then again, maybe that's because this Clark has only ever had a chance to *be* Superman around kids so far. He's far too suspcious of everyone else to ever be that kind, selfless, powerful presence I want him to be. I don't know how that's going to change from here, but it needs to. He needs to have a belief in people in order to truly save them. Maybe by separating Clark and Superman, he might be able to achieve that, but that's not something we'll ever see on this show. *sigh*

Still, Lex! Freakin' (heh) awesome! Clark! Cute! I still have a reason to watch. Also, OMFG JLA! It's the iconic moments that make everything else worthwhile.
