It's only been forever.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well, in Canada. Not so much in Kentucky. But the Canadian in the program--yes, The--totally counts. Mainly because she's the person who brought Tim Hortons to the classroom, which was awesome and gave me brief hope that we, in fact, have a Tim Horton's somewhere around here. Sadly, we do not. It's pretty much a north thing, and Kentucky has ...Great American Donuts? I don't actually know because I haven't been yet, but apparently they're good. I say they can't really compare, and I was apparently the only person who knew what a timbit was. heathens.

Nah, Kentucky is lovely. The people are very nice. And folklore is awesome.

That's what I'm studying now, Folklore. LIS was just a little too...organized. It wasn't really working, on top of the fact that I couldn't afford to stay in the program or in Honolulu, so...Western Kentucky University and the Folk Life program. Admittedly I'm not really used to living here, and it's a really long explanation when people ask where I'm from, but it's growing on me. For example: WEATHER! That's very exciting. The leaves are turning colors! I really missed apple cider. Although weird thing: the leaves have a lot of corners, they're very pointy. Not that anyone else takes issue with it.

it's actually mid-term time tomorrow. I've been re-reading and studying and everything, but it's the class in which I actually am not grasping the material as fully as I'd like, so my concern actually has footing, it's not totally groundless as it can be at times. But I suppose if I don't do well, then at least I'll know to study differently for the final.

swear to god, there was just a commercial that advertised "Ole Fashioned Fun" this weekend. It really is weird around here. I'm adjusting, just, you know, slowly.
