It makes me take a lot more pride in being Catholic than i've ever had before. It's amazing all the love and support that people give. It's like the world just stopped once that bell rang and everyone just prayed. I've been asked before what the point in having a pope is... well today i figured it out. The point of the pope is not just to be a living symbol of christ on Earth, it's not just to represent the Catholic people as a whole, it's about bringing people together... no matter what religion, no matter what anyone believes, he embraced and encouraged all religions, he encouraged peace and love and he represented the goodness that is still Catholicism and represented very old, but beautiful traditions that still exist. He will always be remembered and we can only celebrate the fact that he has returned home. That he is in God's hands now.
