My horrible weekend

Well, I'm back from Young Christian's Weekend at Silver Dollar City. My neck and arms have been fried crispy. It hurts to move. Actually it hurts just to sit here.

First I'll give the good news. I know some of you have been praying about the situation between Jim and me. For quite some time I've believed this weekend would either fix things or make them worse. Well, we got along really well. Sure, he annoyed me at times, but I also have some new-found respect for him. He seemed to understand my gluten-intolerance better than anyone else, and he took Lily and me to Subway to get something to eat when everyone else went to KFC (they don't have anything there that isn't breaded... gah!) Once we were in Subway I began explaining to the lady there that I couldn't have any bread, then she said something, and Jim said "No, the meat cannot touch the bread." I thought that was totally awesome. The day before that Danielle had said "Oh, you can just pick the toppings off the pizza and eat that." Jim gets it! Huzzah!

As for bad news... Dylan is in much trouble. We weren't in the same car, but I heard from the Smith girls he had been telling everyone we're dating. Does he think the two of us dating is even a remote possibility? He's just ruining my reputation... He seems to have no honor, and no repect for mine. It's just so frustrating. I have no idea what I'm going to do for damage control. Next Sunday I'm going to tell him not to come up to the balcony with me anymore. The entire weekend the Smith girls were teasing me about having a boyfriend... I kept telling them I didn't have one, but they didn't seem to be capable of comprehending that. It finally got to the point where everytime they would say "Where's Dylan?" I would simply say "I don't know, and I DON'T CARE."

The Smith twins were another story entirely. They were in my hotel room, which meant I was the chaperone. I barely kept my sanity. They would not stop calling people. Lauren decided she had a crush on Shawnee, so she called his hotel room about six or seven times to say goodnight, until I finally had enough and took away their phone privileges... Right after that T-bone (who was in the same room as Shawnee) came over to complain and tell them to stop calling. Of course they still had their cell phones... Saturday morning the youth leaders called a meeting and said all the kids thirteen and over could go off by themselves, but all the kids under thirteen had to be with an adult. Lauren and Caitlin (who are twelve) immediately told Jim they wanted to go with me, and Jim said he would consider me as an adult, which made me happy... Until I realized that meant I was in charge of the twins and Lily all by myself. When we were in Silver Dollar city, one of them was calling someone else every five minutes... Then Lauren kept disappearing on me, and I would freak out and have to look all over the dang park for her... And then she complained about only having time to go on one ride that morning. Grrr... Lauren also kept taking my seat in Sheila's van, because it was close to Shawnee (who can't stand her,) so I had to sit in her seat in Jim's van, close to Dylan, who was the last person I wanted to be close to.

Saturday afternoon we were standing in line to get into the rally when it started to pour down rain. And of course they couldn't start the rally until it stopped raining, so we stood in the rain for about two hours... I sent Lily back to the hotel with the two other little girls and their aunt because she was pale and shivering all over... Well, I survived the rain and the rally, then went back to the hotel to find out that Lily had eaten *pizza*. Not only that, but then she had borrowed a swimsuit and gone swimming, when she had not been given permission by Mom or me to do so. But it was a little late to tell her she couldn't go swimming. Instead I made her get out of the pool long enough for me to give her some pascalite to help with the wheat infraction, and she gave me a hard time about that, so I got a little upset.

As for the speakers they had at the rallies, I don't think I learned anything I didn't know already... And my ears are still ringing from the very loud concerts. There was lots of screaming at those concerts.

The ride home was the best part. Shawnee and Garret (who were sitting next to me in the middle seat,) were being so funny. They're both cute boys. We were laughing at Shawnee, because he wanted to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Johnny Depp) again, but when we had watched it on the way there he was complaining about it being scary. When we drove by the terminal where my dad works (lots of big gas tanks and such) Garret was telling me how when he was little his parents told him the terminal was where Mickey Mouse lived, so he grew up thinking it was Disneyland. Ai. I also learned that Cody and I were born on the exact same day. I am 12 hours older, though. Ha.
